A great modern accent chair should be the most inviting spot in the room. We’ve focused on textures that you’ll actually want to sink into, whether it’s the nubby feel of boucle or the softness of velvet. Instead of stiff, formal seating, our designs use minimalist, organic shapes and neutral tones that help the chair blend naturally into your room without blocking the view. These pieces are perfect for turning a quiet bedroom corner into a retreat or adding a comfortable reading spot to your living room.
How to Choose: Managing Limited Space
A common issue with standard armchairs is their physical height. In a small apartment, a high-back chair blocks light and makes the floor plan feel smaller. We designed our low-profile collection to solve this. These chairs have a shorter frame but maintain a deep seating area, providing comfort without blocking your view across the room. If you are working with limited square footage, choosing minimalist, organic shapes is more efficient than square designs, as rounded edges fit more easily into tight layouts.
Where to Place: Functional Layouts
An accent chair is designed to provide seating in areas where a full sofa won't fit. These single seaters are the best solution for unused bedroom corners or small gaps next to windows. To create a functional reading spot, place the chair at a slight angle toward the center of your living room. This creates a dedicated area for relaxing while keeping the walking paths clear. Because they have a compact footprint, these pieces are easy to move whenever you need extra accent seating for guests.
Fabric & Feel: Durability and Maintenance
The main concern with premium fabrics like boucle or velvet is how they wear over time. In reality, these are high-density weaves that hold their shape better than standard cotton. We offer neutral tones—including cream, beige, and green, because these specific shades hide dust and minor wear much better than pure white or dark black. The textured surface of boucle is particularly durable; the "nubby" fibers are resistant to pilling and friction, making it a practical choice for a soft-touch chair that is used every day.
